Ocean Reflections

Perhaps I take my extremely short commute to one of God's most amazing creations just a little bit for granted. And, perhaps I've forgotten my very first breath-taking experience of actually seeing the ocean.

It was amazing.

For as far out as I could see, nothing but water... forever... with no end in sight! Vast! Grandiose! Magnificent! Beyond human control or reach!

Not one of us mere mortals could ever hold the entire ocean in our arms or calm its waves, but GOD.

Here's what God said about the ocean Himself when speaking with Job...

"Who shut up the sea behind doors when it burst forth from the womb... when I said, 'This far you may come and no farther; here is where your proud waves halt'?"

~Job 38:8,11

In other words, He knows all and controls all. Who among us can make that claim? I certainly cannot.

My friends, may we gaze upon His creation and reflect on His greatness day by day. And may the reality of His mighty, omnipotent hand cause us to pause in awe and wonder and give thanks for His offer of mercy and grace through His Son, Jesus Christ, to those who sincerely and earnestly seek His face.
